How has everyone else been doing this open water season? Did really well last weekend in the Brainerd area for panfish and bass. Found the majority of my bass in 3-8 feet of water, didnt get into anything too big, but my brother did manage one that went 19" when he was crappie fishing.
The pannies on the other hand we found in the shallows. got into a big school of big bluegills and pumklinseeds. My biggest pumpkinseed went 10.25" and we also got a lot right around that 9-9.5" range.
The crappies were in the bulrushes finishing up their spawn, caught some of the biggest male crappies i have ever seen this weekend. the best of which was just under 14". Caught all of our panfish on my handtied jigs under a bobber without bait. best colors were a white head with a chartreuse body and pink tail.

Photos arent loading tonight for me so i will just post some links for now and try to load them later

here is the 10.25" gill: http://s58.photobucket.com/albums/g278/niftybob20/?action=view&current=5-27-2008-146.jpg
