Hello All,

New to the forum and happy to be among fishing friends.  My fishing buddy (spousal unit) and I are heading up to Big Lake (15 mi. NW of Ely, MN -- staying at Big Lake Wilderness Lodge) June 14-22 and wondered if anyone had fished the lake or had any tips.  Pulling my 14' Lund w/60 Yamaha & 10 Johnson all the way from just East of St. Louis (if I can afford the gas).

I know it's shallow  (by N. Minnesota standards 22' deepest and average 15') with lots of barely submerged rocks  (won't be putting a new prop on the Yamaha before I go)  but have heard good walleye reports.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info, Trout Whisperer.  Not gonna trust my Lund to some of the riggers I've flown with.  Seen too many pallets of small arms auger in because somebody forgot to "attach' the chute.

RF-4  alone, unarmed, and scared !##%less.  Got some time at Clark and Utapao listening to those bad boys launch at dawn (of course, we were just getting back when they were getting up .

Good luck tomorrow.  I'll be waiting for the report.

What is the cause of most boating (and airplane) accidents? Usually it is because someone does too much too soon, followed very quickly by too little too late.
