My brother-in-law sent me these pics. Anybody heard about the fish being caught?

From outdoor weekly. http://www.outdoorsweekly.com/coreport.html

CO Jackie Glaser (Mound), along with CO Kahre, interviewed a fisherman who caught and kept a 52” muskie in a closed season from Lake Minnetonka. After several office phone calls and TIP calls regarding this muskie, COs Glaser and Kahre were able to locate the fisherman based on photos from the Internet and seized the muskie.

guys that keep muskys like that make me sick.... if you wanna mount it you should get a replica. to kill a 35 year old or older fish isn't cool.

it takes about 15 years for them to get in the low 40 inch range over 20 to get around 50 and then you probably can't really tell after that. so it might not be quit that old but its a good looking fish thats for sure.

It's a little more complicated than all that.  See following:

http:/www.twincities.com/ci_8131158=most_emailed

The printed regs listed the closing date for muskies as February.  The reason the regs were changed is big muskies have little chance of surviving if pulled in.

What do you do?  You land the fish and she probably dies instantly.  Do you leave the fish on the ice?  Do you judge the size of the fish from the head in the hole and cut it loose?

How many of you knew the law changed this year mid season?
