Hello All
I am getting phone calls asking - so here it is!!
As of today - most area lakes have walkable ice. Keep in mind larger lakes like Pelican, Gull, ect will have little ice the further out you go. I have checked alot of the area lakes and have found 5-11 inches of ice.
Now for the bad news - every lake I have been on has slush. Most have spots with no slush but good luck finding them! Walking, driving the wheeler - both make for great fun when you hit a few inches of slush
Fishing reports --- Walleye are going strong! 18-26 feet near weeds/rock mix seems to be the #1 -- glow jigs and fatheads are takin most of them but a plain red hook is a strong #2.... Northern pike are unstopable - lots and lots of action above the weeds from 9-15 feet of water. sucker minnow on a tip up seems to be the #1 here ..... Panfish - I am doing wonderful! seems this is more of a hit and miss! sunfish are also slow. Best seems to be small glow ant jig, 15 to 20 feet - watch the depth finder!
Good luck and be safe! |
