With spring here and warm weather coming soon I am wondering how many of you are planning a camping vacation??
I spend as much time as possible camping all over the upper midwest and have found some wonderful places to camp. What places have you camped at and found to be a great experience?
If you are new to camping - what information would be helpful?? |

I have one thats perfect for you! Has tent sites, camper sites, campers, extra freezer for storing all you fish, LARGE fire ring, power for recharging you boat battery, refridge for storing you beverages, stove, oven, grill, Hot shower room and even a hot tub. What more could you ask for??? well - I tell you what - I will even thow in a guided tour of the local lakes, rivers and trout mines! As far as the rain - you know who to talk to! As far as the mosquitoes - this camp ground has a mosquitoe magnet machine - this helps! But no way could I say there will be NONE The brats -- let me cook you some of my own home made venison smoked brats after they have soaked in some dark beer over night! |

Last summer we enjoyed camping at Chief Woodenfrog State Campground on Kabetogema. It was nice being able to camp with the car right there having a baby along. We had friend that joined us and camped for free at some of the boat in sites. Great area for pleasure cruising and fishing.
I know that we'll be back this summer for sure. |

Yea Hey Hogeye!!! Great to hear from you! It has been some time since I was at Kabetogema - how was the fishing? I am thinking this summer of spending a long weekend camping at a boat in site up that way but have yet to set the dates up. |

| Fishing was really good for the 1/2 hour that I fished. Did more exploring and cruising than anything. We will be going again this summer, but haven't set a date yet. I am also interested in Namakin and may try that. |

Hi Randyman,
If you are ever in the southwest, Texas and Oklahoma have a number of great places. Just about anywhere is East Texas is good for hunting and camping. In Oklahoma, the kiamichi mountains are great to get away from everything.
Hope this helps,
Jeff Marshall
