Hi, my name is Buck and my son, Justin, and I live in Minnesota and enjoy fun, leisure, camping, fishing, and outdoor stuff and I want to make sure that THEY don't take that away from us.

What About The Kid In The Middle?
in a world gone mad!

When I was a Scoutmaster, we had invited a Minnesota DNR Conservation Officer to come and speak to the kids in our troop. He began his presentation by taking eleven scouts and had them stand in front of the group.

He sent 5 kids to the left and 5 kids were then sent to stand on the right. The eleventh child was asked to stand in the middle.

He went on to explain that the 5 kids on the left represented the people in favor of outdoor activities. The 5 kids to the left represent the anti-outdoor advocates.

The kid in the middle? The yet undecided vote that is going to determine our outdoors future.

On the ride home, my young son turned to me and asked, "Dad, can we build a website to help that boy in the middle?"

The Reluctant Hero
that's just what Moms and Dads do...

I was already working long hours trying to feed and shelter my young family, I was volunteering any additional time to the Scout troop, and a bit reluctant to take on this additional task. But, as boys and girls that age usually are, Justin was so persistent about helping that kid in the middle that I finally caved in, said yes, became my son's hero, and JustNorth.com was born.

You know, looking back, it ended up being the best thing that I have ever done. With over a thousand members , it has been 5 years of fun getting closer to my kids, meeting new people, connecting with new fishing pals, sharing a camp fire with camping buddies new and old, and going on hundreds of unbelievable trips that we never would have had the opportunity to remember if it wasn't for the great people we have met through this website.

We have this guy, named The Trout Whisperer, that writes a whole bunch of articles and can really spin some pretty tall tales. But the cool part about it is that he, and his daughter, Kassie, have really lived all the experiences that he shares with us.

 

 

Oh, did I mention that we have over a thousand articles, stories, outdoor tips, and knot tying secrets to share with you?
