After a Down Pour
After a heavy down pour fish anywhere you can find water running into the lake this water will be full of nutrients starting a vibrant food chain and bass will be all over it.
Anise your hands
Every one knows that a fish can smell you on the lures you've touched. Oils from your hands do not easily wash off once the lure hits the water. Try rubbing your hands with anise seeds, which can be bought for about .50 cents in many grocery stores. This will help eliminate the scent of your hands on the lure.

Consistent Line Depth
Using a permanent marker to indicate the line depth when drop line fishing can help you get right back where the fish are. When you find fish mark your line and you can put your bait or lure right back where the fish are everytime!
Don't Lose Your Landing Net
Fill the aluminum handle of your landing net with styrofoam packing peanuts and you'll never watch another landing net sink to the bottom when accidently dropping it in the water.
Fighting a Bass
When you are fighting a fish and trying to get him back in the boat, at all costs DO NOT LET THEM JUMP!!! It looks really cool and all when a bass goes airborne on you and does some neat acrobatic tricks, but that is the easiest way for them to throw the hook on you. Too many times I've seen guys that I fish with "horsing" a fish to the boat with their rod tip straight up in the air. If you have a fish that wants to dive deep on you, then put your rod tip up and keep the tension on the fish. However, if the fish is screaming for the suface, LOWER YOUR ROD TIP! Don't put slack in the line or anything, just hold your rod to the side, but with the rod tip low. If you keep upward tension on the fish as it comes to the surface, you just make it that much easier for the fish to jump. And if you have tension on the line when it jumps, then you will more than likely loose that fish. So in short, my tip is if you think the fish is going to jump on you, keep tension on the fish by lowering...
Floating A Fly
When in a pinch for a line dressing during a flyfishing trip you can always use some ordinary chapstick. Apply it to your line or work it between your fingers and a dry fly. Your fly will now float perfectly on top of the water.
