Port Crescent State Park will hold a "GO-Get Outdoors" candlelight cross-country ski night on Jan. 12. Approximately 1.5 miles of the groomed cross-country ski trail will be illuminated for night skiing. Luminaries will be lit at 5:30 p.m. and skiers may begin skiing after that time. A bonfire and refreshments will be available for the skiers to help them warm up...

Ice anglers are getting anxious however they need to remember that first ice is dangerous ice. Use extreme caution this time of year as ice conditions vary from lake to lake. First ice is not always safe ice because the freezing process is not uniform. It is great to have ice cover this early in the season but extreme caution needs to be used...
